BRITS FOOD SECURITY ORGANIZATION PROVIDES FOR NEEDY FAMILIES

God’s Pantry in Brits, one of Unchain Our Children’s partner organizations which was founded to provide not only food but also spiritual support for needy families in their community, held their first annual charity benefit, SEEDS OF HOPE, recently.  Among the guest speakers  were, Wayne van Onselen, Founder and Executive Director of Unchain Our Children, Ria Pieterse, of Ria Pieterse Attorneys Inc, and Cleo Jacobs and Sandy du Toit the Founder and co-founder of God’s Pantry.

“It is a great privilege to be able to sow seeds of hope in our community. We believe that as long as it is God's will that we will continue to be his vessels and keep going from strength to strength, united with two big inspirations such as Unchain Our Children and Ria Pieterse Attorneys whom had our backs every step of the way in 2024.” Cleo Jacobs - God's Pantry

The Fundraiser was to create awareness and to provide a larger food parcel per family for the festive season. The weekly parcels will resume in 2025. R9 400 was raised to purchase food for this time.

“We at God’s Pantry are blessed and extremely thankful for our partnership with Unchain Our Children and Ria Pieterse Attorneys. Both are dedicated, supportive and just a phone call away.” Cleo Jacobs - God's Pantry

The hopes and dreams for 2025 are exciting as Cleo and Sandy envisage an uplifting and empowering employment initiative to enable families to become self-sufficient and strong again. God’s Pantry will accompany them still until they are completely independent.

The ”Kosblikkie” project at one of the local schools will also still continue and the goal is to expand the project to sponsor 75 lunch boxes weekly.

“We have the greatest admiration for God’s Pantry, our partner organization in Brits who goes above and beyond and many extra miles to provide food for the vulnerable families in their community. We wish them God’s richest blessing and provision during the festive season and looking forward to the opportunities 2025 will bring.” Wayne van Onselen - UOC

God’s Pantry food parcel collections have moved and from January 2025 recipients can gather at Shalom Ministries on 65 Kerk street to receive their weekly food hampers.
