Unchain Our Children Invited To Speak At Legal Aid South Africa’s Gauteng Annual Provincial Stakeholder Forum

During Legal Aid South Africa’s Gauteng annual Provincial Stakeholder Forum held in Pretoria recently, Mr Wayne van Onselen, Founder and Executive Director of Unchain Our Children was given a platform, courtesy of Adv Nieuwoudt, to inform the audience about the work his organization has been successfully accomplishing over many years regarding gender-based violence, domestic violence, child abuse and counter human trafficking among the most vulnerable in society.

The networking session was attended, amongst other, by the Judge Presidents in the magistrate courts of Johannesburg and Randburg as well as several office managers in the different areas of Legal Aid SA, Gauteng.

Legal Aid South Africa aims to “enhance justice and public confidence in the law and administration of justice”, by providing unbiased and independent legal aid to those who cannot afford their own legal representation, including the poor and vulnerable groups, especially women, children, and the rural poor.

“Networking events like this, underline the importance of parallel purpose of non-profit companies, like Unchain Our Children, and independent statutory bodies like Legal Aid South Africa, to continue to collaborate in the best interests of the vulnerable in our country”, Mr van Onselen said.
